- Good sportsmanship: with each person on your team. You work together, no matter how good each kid is. We pick each other up. Good comradarie.
- Keep your head in the game.
- Play hard and to the best of your ability.
- Have fun doing it.
- Never put down another team's players.
If you do all those, winning will follow. I believe that is what is happening to us - at least so far. Even if your team isn't maybe the most awesome on the field, you will still have fun (rule #4).
Go Romeoville Cubs!

When I use to coach my son's (Chris and Adam's) basketball team I used almost the same basics as you are using:
1. Focus
2. Observation
3. Learn
4. Fun
It was something I learned early in life and used those as life lessons in everything. Focus on what you need/want/have to do.
Observe not only your opponent but also the situation and yourself.
Learn from the mistakes/process you are doing.
And above all have fun and laugh at what you did. Don't take it too serious because you will get old really fast.
Man I forgot all those lessons!
YAY!! Let's hope the kids keep the "fun" attitude and not put any pressure on themselves to have a record-breaking year! Hopefully they will take these lessons and apply them to their lives as well.
